Students, teachers and parents protest asking for help in our education crisis. As do i believe that the government should spend more money on education these people showed it by protesting.

Teacher interview

For my teacher interview I asked my friend/ teacher Mrs. Real, a substitute teacher at la sierra academy. I asked her for her point of view on what she thought about schools and if they are preparing students for their future, I asked what Mrs. Real thought about money spending in schools, and if testing for placement in classes are really working. What she thought about the schools preparing for the future is that no, schools do not prepare people for their future. Schools need to show a bit more about thing that deal with the world and not just in books and things of the past but thing that are going on now. For the question on if the government uses the funds for schools wisely  she said she said that they do not use the money in the right way that they should spend it on more teachers and rooms that way class rooms can have less students per teacher and more attention. And lastly for placement test Mrs. Real said that they are helpful but she believes they do not act on what the statistics say. If they need to improve English or math they should get more help on those specific subject.

Reflection SB 1070 discussion

On Wednesdays discussion i felt as if our class was way more prepared. Like last time a lot of us had nothing to say, but the few that were prepared brought up strong points. One of the points that really amazed me is the re-election of Jan Brewer and how the other candidate is even less liked by the state of Arizona. There were a lot of misunderstandings in the discussion though. For example, when the topic of health care came up some said because they are illegal immigrant they do not deserve the benefits just because they are illegal, and that if they brought of family which had nothing to do. What if someone in the class had a family member that was illegal they would surely choose their loved one over that persons loved one. Many other things of that sort came up that in my opinion had nothing to do when relating family and things of that sort. but as a whole it was a discussion done well.

This page is showing how law enforcement ould handle a cituation while stopping someone without making it seem like racial profileing. The questions the officers are recommended to as are foolish, these quesins make it seem like if they are just wanting to find out if they are immagrants.

relection.discussion mosque

In the class discussion what i thought was ineresting is how as a class we kept bringing up how people are ignorant with the Muslim religion. What i thought went well in the discussion, is how when the discussion started getting slow Mr. Palo picked students asking them there opinion about the proposed mosque at ground zero. Even though most students did not want to share, when they did they brought up a good point and brought up something else to discuss about. in this discussion i learned thet the mosque is not even proposed to be built on hollowed ground but two blocks away, where bars and things of that sort are found. As for my point of view on this topic, it didnot change, i believe that the mosque should be built.

question of the week 8/23/2010

From all that has been said and done about the proposed mosque at ground zero, all i see is that we as Americans should fallow our principles. Our constitution states freedom of religion, how can we have hatred for a religion just because a inccedent  that individuals did around nine years ago? I believe that this whole mosque issue is just madness, the people who where lost that day do to this terrorist attack makes the area where the towers stood a honorable place, but then there is the fact that were the mosque is set to be, is two blocks away. The area were the mosque is planned to be built has nothing to do with ground zero. If we the proposed mosque was not to be built it would just contredict our constitution.LLike our president Obama stated we will not declare a war on Muslims. But then the question comes up, what if radical Islam is doing this as a slap in the face, building the mosque to show they are taking over? That can not be, islam is a religion of peace. Just because the people who attacked the trade center were Muslim does not mean the whole religion should be attacke. Look at it this way, say if  a group of Catholics decide to one day attack the Whit House would you blame the whole Catholic church? Where i stand in thi conflict that should not be this big in my opinion, i say the Mosque should deffinatley be built. How would we be the land of the free if we did not allow this religion to be free?
